Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says Rooney will face a scan on Wednesday to ascertain damage done to his knee. The 29-year-old, who missed his side's 2-1 home win against Stoke on Tuesday, picked up the injury on Saturday's Hull victory. Gaal added there's 'more light in the tunnel' for United's injury list, with the club having more injured players since Van Gaal's takeover from David Moyes. First-choice players have been ruled out of matches at different stages of the season. Three United stars, Angel Di Maria, Luke Shaw and Daley Blind, missed the Stoke win. Van Gaal further doubts the possibility of Rooney appearing in the game against Southampton on Monday.
