Fan who struck Messi will be banned - Valencia


Valencia vows to ban fan who struck Messi on the head with a bottle, following Barcelona 1-0 victory against the club. Messi, who had set up Sergio Busquets' late goal for their side, was hit by a plastic bottle thrown from the Valencia side as the team celebrated. Though unhurt, Valencia regretted and condemned the act, promising to identify and ban the fan. On the other hand, Barca manager Luis Enrique castigated violence in football, stating that the Spanish clubs are fighting against fans who intend always to cause trouble at games.
