Robin van Persie's double
score knifed Southampton apart and fired Manchester United to third place on the Premier league table. United sneaked
into a 2-1 win over Southampton at St. Mary on Monday after Netherland striker
Persie's 12th minute goal was doubled at the 71th minute. Leading the opening
goal, Van Persie took advantage of skipper Jose Fonte's error backpass, but
Graziano Pelle pulled in a 31th minute equaliser which dragged the Saints back
into the fight for victory. Van Persie followed in with a good use of Wayne
Rooney's free-kick to seal the win for the United side.
Reports claim that Manchester City are plotting to make a move for talented French youngster forward Kylian Mbappe for £200 million. But City boss Pep Guardiola has come out to say in a news conference ahead of City's UCL clash with German club Hoffenheim that the move cannot happen. Here is what he said in the conference: "That is not going to happen," "Sometimes I don't understand where that news comes from."
