Chelsea will make no signings
in the January transfer window, says manager Jose Mourinho. The team has enough
capable and balanced players to even out in the coming competitions. The Blues have six matches before January 1,
with the first starting today against Hull City. Mourinho plans to rest his
senior players for this Yuletide season, saying he is doubtful any one player
should appear in all the six matches. The manager has granted his
European-based players a two-day 'holiday' to rest and 'have a nice dinner with
their families'. The former Real Madrid manager's side meets Hull City in the
Premier league today. Petr Cech will replace injured skipper goalkeeper Thibaut
Courtois in the Hull City face-off. Cesc Fabregas is ruled out for suspension
and midfielder Nemanja Matic joins the squad after ban.
Reports claim that Manchester City are plotting to make a move for talented French youngster forward Kylian Mbappe for £200 million. But City boss Pep Guardiola has come out to say in a news conference ahead of City's UCL clash with German club Hoffenheim that the move cannot happen. Here is what he said in the conference: "That is not going to happen," "Sometimes I don't understand where that news comes from."
