Dave Whelan gets deadline extension

Dave Whelan gets a one-week ultimatum to respond to FA charge following a derogatory statement made about Jews and Chinese people. The Wigan chairman, who denied making racist remarks, requested an extension prior to due date 5 December to answer the charge. He threatens to resign at Wigan should he be punished. In 7 days, an independent regulatory commission will hear the case. The commission will decide his punishment or prove him guilty before punishing the 78-year-old.
