Liverpool boss Brendan
Rodgers says must-win match with Basel this Tuesday will prove his players
worthy to be included in Reds' folklore. The Anfield match is much-needed to
shove the Reds into knockout stage and 2nd place in Group B. On the other hand,
the Swiss team only needs a draw to trail beside fellow group winner Real
Madrid. Rodgers' side were in the same position in December 2004, needing a win
over Olympiakos to reach the last 16. Reds' boss admits his side have often had
must-win games in which they emerge winners. He, however, dismissed the claim
that Tuesday's victory will be dependent solely on Captain Steven Gerrard's
'super-saving' skill, stating that the responsibility for the victory
will rest on the shoulders of all his players.
Reports claim that Manchester City are plotting to make a move for talented French youngster forward Kylian Mbappe for £200 million. But City boss Pep Guardiola has come out to say in a news conference ahead of City's UCL clash with German club Hoffenheim that the move cannot happen. Here is what he said in the conference: "That is not going to happen," "Sometimes I don't understand where that news comes from."
