Balotelli proving difficult to tame

Mario Balotelli’s future at Liverpool remains in grave doubt after it emerged manager Brendan Rodgers has increasing reservations about his technical ability.
Balotelli has endured a difficult start to his career as the striker is yet to score a Premier League goal since the £16m summer move to Anfield.

Doubts have existed about the Italian forward’s attitude, hunger and desire ever since he first played in England for Manchester City three years ago and his performances for Liverpool have done nothing to persuade his critics otherwise. The Liverpool striker is now set to miss Sunday’s game against Arsenal at Anfield after indicating he will accept the
punishment, which includes a £25,000 fine, a warning to his future conduct and compulsory attendance at an education course.

“Following the recent events related to my “Super Mario” post, the FA decision has made clear that it was wrong,” tweeted Balotelli last night. “I am sorry that my team-mates and supporters of Liverpool FC have to be penalized for something I did and now come to regret. “It is my intention to comply with the decision of the FA and make sure it never happens again.”

“The club acknowledges the decision reached by the independent panel and due consideration will be given to the written judgment once we receive it,” said a Liverpool spokesman. “Any further action taken by ourselves in  relation to this matter is between the club and the player.”
