Messi, Ronaldo, Neuer named for Ballon d'Or 2014




Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Manuel Neuer have been shortlisted for 2014 Ballon d'Or award. The three were selected from a trimmed 23-man list. FIFA will announce the world player of the year by January 12, 2015. 27-year-old Lionel Messi remains a four-time recipient of the award. Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo won the prize in 2013. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, Germany boss Joachim Low, and Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone are on the shortlist for FIFA coach of the year.
