Manchester City forges
through to Champion league knockout stage with a 2-0 flogging of Roma on
Wednesday. The first-time victory in Italy put them alongside Group E Bayern
Munich. Munich inflicted a 3-0 pain on CSKA Moscow to pull City through to
qualification. City's Nasir Samri scratched depression in Roma with a 60-minute
goal. Paulo Zabaleta doubled Roma's depression with his first Champions League
goal. City, who suffered pressure from Roma following Nasir's score, soon
recaptured their air with Zabaleta's 86th minute shot. The Premier league
champions who had earlier lost their first four games and now have six wins to
their claim, still managed a thorough caning to Roma without injured Sergio
Aguero, suspended Yaya Toure, and skipper Vincent Kompany. The scintillating
victory sneaks City through for the last 16 draw on Monday.
Reports claim that Manchester City are plotting to make a move for talented French youngster forward Kylian Mbappe for £200 million. But City boss Pep Guardiola has come out to say in a news conference ahead of City's UCL clash with German club Hoffenheim that the move cannot happen. Here is what he said in the conference: "That is not going to happen," "Sometimes I don't understand where that news comes from."
