Following elimination from
the Champions league group stage which was finalised by Liverpools' 1-1 draw
with Basel on Tuesday, Rodgers admitted he is 'more determined than ever to
succeed as Reds' manager'. Liverpool crashed out of the Champions league after
recording several successive defeats this season. They finished third, to
continue on to Europa league knockout stage in February. Rodgers, boasting his
club is one of the biggest clubs in the world, said the team have been unable to
express themselves for unknown reasons this season. The Reds meet Manchester
United at Old Trafford in Sunday's Premier league face-off.
Reports claim that Manchester City are plotting to make a move for talented French youngster forward Kylian Mbappe for £200 million. But City boss Pep Guardiola has come out to say in a news conference ahead of City's UCL clash with German club Hoffenheim that the move cannot happen. Here is what he said in the conference: "That is not going to happen," "Sometimes I don't understand where that news comes from."
