Platini, who claimed to have supported Blatter in 1998, said the body needs some fresh air and someone else who can rectify the consistent corruption allegations that has been characteristic of Sepp's tenure. He vowed to not back Sepp and fellow candidate Jerome Champagne in the May 2015 elections. And neither would he vie in the coming election, but would rather prefer to back anyone else besides Blatter and Champagne.
