FIFA has been urged to
publish the full report of its investigation into the 2018 and 2022 World Cup
bidding process. Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Sajid Javid
wrote to president Blatter to make public the full report of the investigation
besides the 42-page summary the body had earlier published. Javid described
FIFA's act as questioning the body's independence and transparency. The summary
report published on November 13 cleared Russia and Qatar, hosts of the 2018 and
2022 World cup. However, investigator Michael Garcia argued that the report had
"numerous materially incomplete and erroneous representations".
Ethics judge Hans-Eckert and Garcia have therefore agreed to let head of the
world governing body's Audit and Compliance Committee, Domenico Scala, look into the findings. Javid stated that the
full report must be published to foster FIFA's credibility.
