Pepe says it is disgraceful
if this year's Ballon d'Or prize is denied his teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo.
This would be the third win for 29-year-old Ronaldo after his first win in
2008. Speaking with national newspaper A Bola, Pepe said "it would be a
scandal if they did not give the Ballon d'Or to Cristiano Ronaldo this
year." When the defender was asked: "Can anyone admit that Ronaldo is
not going to be the winner of the trophy?" Pepe replied "If any other
player wins, they should be ashamed given what Cristiano has been doing,
beating lots of records, scoring 17 goals in the Champions League last season,
these things are almost impossible." FIFA will on December 1 announce
three-man shortlist for the award.
