He was nominated for Ballon d'Or and FIFA Player of the year award at age 21. At 22, he won FIFA Ballon d'Or in 2009. Then he received the award again in 2010, 2011, 2012 consecutively. In 2010-11, he bagged the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award. By 24 and 25, he was the top scorer in all club competitions and the youngest player with a 200 goal record in La Liga. September 2014 marked his 400 goal record for senior career club and country. He remains the first to win four FIFA Ballon d'Or consecutively and also the first to receive three European Golden Shoe awards. Messi became the first player to net five goals in one match in March 2012 Champions League. In October 2014, Messi became the youngest player to score 250 goals in La Liga. He is reputed as the best player in the world and in sports as the greatest.
