It became a night to never remember for new FC Schalke manager Roberto di Matteo as his side capped a ruthless defeat by his former Chelsea club. With 5-0 win against FC Schalke, Chelsea moved to last 16 in Group G. At only 2 minutes into the game, John Terry netted Chelsea's first goal with a header, and Willian followed with a second at 29 minutes. Schalke Jan Kirchhoff's own goal knocked the Blues to goal 3. Before substitutes, Didier and Ramires, nudged Chelsea's score to five. The Blues qualify for the Champions League knockout stage to reach last 16.
