West Ham fined by the FA for failing to control players

West Ham have been fined £30,000 by the Football Association for failing to control their players in their recent 0-0 draw at Southampton.

The sanction relates to an incident which followed the dismissal of West Ham goalkeeper Adrian for handling the ball outside his penalty area.
The red card was subsequently overturned on appeal.
West Ham admitted a charge of failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.
Adrian was sent off by referee Craig Pawson for the first time in his career after losing possession under pressure from Southampton striker Sadio Mane and falling on the ball.
The Spaniard, 28, appeared to touch the ball with a hand to prompt the red card which was met with protests from a number of West Ham players.
Southampton, who are third in the Premier League, face Liverpool at St Mary's on Sunday (16.15 GMT) while the Hammers, who are eighth, face a London derby against Tottenham at White Hart Lane (12.00 GMT).
