Manchester City were frustrated by their relegation-threatened opponents, with Nigel Pearson’s men deliberately making life difficult to keep the Citizens quiet. It worked well in the opening 45 minutes too, but Leicester’s resistant eventually was broken.
Playmaker David Silva saw him first effort initially blocked by Leicester defender Wes Morgan, but the Spaniard made no mistake with the rebound. It was pretty much the last kick of the first-half too, so Leicester were disappointed to go into the break behind.
In the second-half, the home side pushed on for a decisive second goal, but it just didn’t come early on. Leicester striker Andrej Kramaric threatened an equaliser, but the Foxes couldn’t manage a goal. For Manuel Pellegrini’s side, Yaya Toure threatened all night to score, but he was also guilty of wastefulness in front of goal.
But the second goal did come in the last few minutes of the game, with James Milner continuing his fine run in front of goal to double Man City’s lead.
