Messi suffered from wear and tear but he always responds, Barcelona manager Valverde explains

Messi was able to ensure that his team Argentina found a place in the Russia 2018 World Cup with the hatrick he scored last week. But that performance took a toll on Messi as he wasn't able give a stellar performance against Atletico Madrid which ended 1-1  during the weekend.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde said: "It's true that Leo had some wear and tear because of the tension of the matches he had had to play, but we know that he always responds in any situation.

"He gave us a lot of effort and it was clear that, when he got the ball, something good could happen for us."
