According to ESPNFC, Barcelona star Lionel Messi would not be present at The Best FIFA Football Awards holding today.

According to reports, the 5-time Ballon d'Or winner will not be making a trip out of Spain as he must prepare for the Copa del Rey game on Wednesday against Athletic Bilboa.

Also based on the achievements by Cristiano Ronaldo last season, chances are that Ronaldo will beat Lionel Messi to the award like he did with the Ballon d'Or as he took the White Giants to victory in the Champions League and also Portugal to win the Euro 2016 Cup.
