Chinese government breaks silence on Chinese Super League extravagant spending

Following the signings of players with out-of-the-world earnings, the Chinese government has come out to curtail the excessive spending.

A government spokesman was quoted on the website of the General Administration of Sport saying the government would seek to "regulate and restrain high-priced signings, and make reasonable restrictions on players' high incomes."
