Ed Woodward says Manchester United will continue to strengthen their squad even after their shopping spree in the summer transfer window.
He told a Fans Forum that the club would 'continue to look to strengthen the squad and to reward young talent' citing the elevation to the first-team squad of Brazilian teenager Andreas Pereira as evidence of the latter.
Since the arrival of manager Louis van Gaal last summer, United have shelled out more than£250million on new talent, including the likes of Memphis Depay, Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin.
And executive vice-chairman Woodward confirmed that the spending would go on.
He told a Fans Forum that the club would 'continue to look to strengthen the squad and to reward young talent' citing the elevation to the first-team squad of Brazilian teenager Andreas Pereira as evidence of the latter.
In the meeting, held at Old Trafford, Woodward also claimed that United were linked with more than 100 players in a summer when six new faces arrived.
He added that he was 'delighted' with the return of Champions League football and painted a rosy picture of the club's financial outlook with revenues expected to sail past the £500m mark this year.
United have come under fire for not having a women's team and a club spokesman added that they were currently reviewing the situation.
During the forum it also emerged that United were in talks with the club's airline partner, the Russian company Aeroflot, aimed at providing shuttle buses from subway stations to CSKA Moscow's Arena Khimki for the Champions League clash on October 21.
In the 'other business' section, the club's charity arm, the Manchester United Foundation, were asked to comment on what they were doing to combat Manchester City's work in schools.
One fan claimed that United's cross-town rivals were 'running riot', providing free tickets and snapping up the city's supporters of the future.
John Shiels, the Foundation's chief executive, responded that they were happy with the long-term work they were doing and added that United handed out free tickets to schoolchildren and arranged visits by members of the Under 21 squad.
