BATE Borisov 0-2 Barcelona: Super sub Ivan Rakitic nets stunning brace

An Ivan Rakitic double helped Barcelona see off BATE Borisov and send the Champions League holders to the top of Group E.

The Croatian, who scored the first goal of the game when they won the trophy against Juventus last May in Berlin, climbed off the bench to replace the injured Sergi Roberto in the first-half and his second-half strikes gave Barcelona the win they deserved.

With Lionel Messi posting a picture of himself on social media as he watched the game at home it was left once again to Neymar to lead the team and his assists were key as Barcelona broke BATE’s resolve. Fellow Brazilian Dani Alves was also in top form as Luis Enrique’s side impressed in the Borisov Arena.
