Real Madrid players looked in high spirits as they were put through their paces in training ahead of Tuesday's opening Champions League group stage game against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Los Blancos are currently second in La Liga and go into the match against Shakhtar on the back of a rampant run of form, winning their last two games 11-0 on aggregate.
Their last victory, a six-goal mauling of Espanyol, saw Cristiano Ronaldo net five times and surpass Raul's all-time scoring record for Madrid in the Spanish top-flight.
Ronaldo, 30, who joined Madrid from Manchester United for a then world-record transfer fee of £80million in 2009, is still behind Raul in terms of total goals in all competitions with 318 compared to 323; but it does not seem unreasonable to suggest that it is only a matter of time before that is changed.
After his stunning performance against Espanyol, Madrid boss Rafa Benitez hailed Ronaldo as a history maker. 'The numbers speak for themselves,' he told reporters.
Benitez added: 'Someone who scores so many goals has a place in the history books.
'I hope that he can continue to add to his goalscoring account for his own benefit and that of the team.'
Despite Madrid's current run, midfielder Luka Modric has warned his team-mates against complacency.
