Real Madrid failed to keep the lead against German side Dortmund but still qualified for the round of 16 knockout stages.

Frenchman Karim Benzema gave the host an early lead as he scored two goals in the 28th and the 53rd minute. But just seven minutes after, Gabonese ace Aubameyang scored reducing the host's lead by 1.

When Real Madrid were getting ready to head out with a 2-1 win, Marco Reus scored a smashing goal with an assist from Aubameyang.

Real Madrid finish second with 12 points while Dortmund move into the second round at the top of the table.
