Chapacoense awarded 2016 Copa Sudamericana


Brazilian clubside Chapacoense who lost 19 players in a plane crash about two weeks has been officially awarded the 2016 Copa Sudamericana.

The South American governing body said it awarded the title "as a posthumous homage to the victims of the fatal crash that leaves our sport mourning."

Furore over the Marseille sales of Didier Drogba and Samir Nasri into Chelsea and Arsenal respectively escalated to more arrests on Tuesday. The people arrested are: Current OM president Vincent Labrune, and his two predecessors, Jean-Claude Dassier and Pape Diouf. According to ESPN, these are among around a dozen people being questioned by police over commission and alleged illicit payments made on transfers involving the Ligue 1 outfit.
