Real Madrid on the verge of setting new record of Unbeaten-run

Although it may have gone unnoticed, Real Madrid broke the unbeaten run record that was set by former coach Carlo Ancelotti. During Ancelotti's stay at the Bernabeu, he recorded a 32-game unbeaten run for Real Madrid.

But it was broken in the Copa del Rey game earlier this month when they won 6-1 against Cultural Leonesa.

With yesterday's Champions League outcome, Real Madrid level with 34-games unbeaten record set by former coach Leo Beenhakker during 1988-89 season. If they win or draw during the weekend game against Deportivo, they will be setting a new record f or themselves.

But they still have Barcelona to beat in the La Liga for the most amount of games unbeaten where Barcelona holds 39 games unbeaten run under the management of Luis Enrique last season. Juventus presently holds the most unbeaten runs in the whole of Europe with 43 games unbeaten in 2011-12 season under Antonio Conte who currently manages Chelsea.
