Manchester United want Mario Gomez

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a January move for experienced German forward Mario Gomez.The 30-year-old is contracted to Fiorentina, but is currently on loan at Turkish side Besiktas, where he has scored eight times in 10 league appearances this season.It is understood that Man United boss Louis van Gaal is keen to improve his striking options in January, but wants an experienced figure in the final third.According to Calciomercato.com, Gomez has emerged as a target for the Premier League side, who currently only have three first-team forwards on their books.Gomez, who has scored 25 times in 60 games for Germany, is believed to be surplus to requirements at Fiorentina.
