Hottest Football News: Angel Di Maria receives 1-year sentence with fine of over €1 million

Argentine and PSG winger Angel Di Maria has pled guilty to tax fraud in Spain. He was given a one-year sentence and will pay a total of €2 million in fines and back-taxes.

According to Spanish prosecutors, the 29-year old failed to declare €1.298 million in earnings between 2012 and 2013 while he played for Real Madrid, by ceding his image rights to an offshore company, Sunpex Corporation Inc, based in Panama.

Furore over the Marseille sales of Didier Drogba and Samir Nasri into Chelsea and Arsenal respectively escalated to more arrests on Tuesday.
