Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has come out to confirm that Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have both suffered "long-term" injuries.

Jones picked up a toe injury in a training ground incident with Smalling. But few days later, Smalling left the England squad with fitness problems of his own.
