Island of Portugal to be renamed after Cristiano Ronaldo; critics slam president of the island region

Despite critics slamming the president of Madeira for renaming their International airport after Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo, the President of Madeira -an island of Portugal- has come out to say that critics 'lack manners'.

The President of Madeira announced last year that the airport would be renamed the Cristiano Ronaldo Aeropuerto after the Real Madrid superstar who was born in the Madeiran capital, Funchal. He received the honours after he captained Portugal to the 2016 European Championship.

The airport is to be renamed on March 29 after Portugal host Sweden in a friendly in Funchal.
