FIFA bans three ex-presidents for life in bid to send strong anti-corruption message to the football world


FIFA has decided to crackdown on corruption issues within the body as they place a life ban of three ex-presidents.

One of the officials is Julio Rocha, the former Nicaraguan Football Association president and a former FIFA development officer. Another official is Rafael Esquivel, former Venezualan Footbal Association president. The last official is Richard Lai, the former Guam Football Association president and a former member of the FIFA audit and compliance committee.

All three men pleaded guilty to separate fraud and money laundering charges.
