Barcelona race to become the first club to hit €1 billion revenue mark




Barcelona have predicted that their annual revenue this season would be close to €900 million as they go on the verge of becoming the first club to hit the €1 billion mark.

Earlier this year, Barcelona announced a record revenue of €708 million for the 2016/17 season which was €13 million higher than they had estimated. The revenue was €88 million more than the 2015/16 season.

Barca president Josep Bartomeu has declared they intend to hit the €1bn mark by 2021 and they have calculated that a revenue increase of €189m would make that a "very realistic aim"
