Juventus reveals they failed to sign Cristiano Ronaldo in 2002


Juventus sporting director Gianni di Marzio, has revealed that they failed to sign Cristiano Ronaldo about 15 years ago. He said a faulty swap deal cost them the best player in the world today.

According to ESPNFC, Di Marzio said he had already brought Ronaldo to Turin and had already had a fine negotiation with him. But the ex-Chile striker that played for Juventus Marcelo Salas was unwilling to make the swap to go to [Sporting] Lisbon in order to get Ronaldo to Juventus. This was how the transfer crashed.
