Hot Football News: Newly-resigned Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce reveals that "the decision I believe is right for my family and myself"

So Sam Allardyce had this to say about his sudden step-down from his managerial job at Crystal Palace...

Reports have been saying he stepped down because he was given no certainty by Palace that they would buy any players during the summer transfer windows. So Allardyce had this to say:

"Steve Parish (club chairman) has been superb during our conversations today.

"I know it came as a shock to him that I would walk away but our discussions have been incredibly civilised with no recriminations and no fall-out.

"This is not about transfer targets, club finances or anything along these lines. This is me taking the decision I believe is right for my family and myself."
