Newcastle name John Carver as Head Coach


Newcastle names John Carver as the Head Coach until the end of the season following a long fruitless search for a head coach.

Carver has lost three matches and drawn one match. He will meet Hull in the weekend and hopes to secure his first win. He faces former boss Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace on February 11.

Argentine Footballer dies after attack

33-year-old Argentine footballer, Franco Neito, fell dead after taking a stone hit to his head following an attack from three hooligans. The Tiro Federal club captain was nailed down after the match against Chacarita Juniors in Aimogasta, north-west Argentina. The victim was operated  on on Tuesday but died on Wednesday. Report confirms Argentina has recorded 15 deaths in football-related violence this year.  The country continues to sit in the mud following football-related violence activities often perpetrated by so-called Barras Bravas gangs - radical supporters who have caused over 256 deaths in Argentine football up to August 2012.
