Allardyce Hoping Barcelona’s Alex Song Makes Permanent West Ham Move

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has urged Alex Song to turn his temporary stay into a permanent one.

The Cameroonian midfielder is on a season-long loan from Barcelona but Allardyce has implored him to sign permanently at the end of the campaign.
Allardyce admitted it may be a slight struggle to lure Song away from the Camp Nou but feels if he wants to play regularly then east London is the place to be.
"Clubs might have a bigger history and tradition than ours but it is not always the case that they will succeed against you,” he said.
"In the end Alex moved to Barcelona (from Arsenal) which he thought was one hell of a move for him at the time and unfortunately he did not play, or as much as he wanted to.
"So it is fine being at these clubs but it is not that good if you are not playing if you are a footballer contrary to what most people think."
