Barcelona midfielder Rakitic politely disagrees with Cristiano Ronaldo's claim on being the best ever to play the game

After Cristiano Ronaldo's fifth Ballon d'Or award, he believes that he is the best player to ever play the game of Football. This may seem true as the award levelled him with Lionel Messi but a Barcelona midfielder doesn't seem to agree with Ronaldo belief pointing Messi as the best player to ever had played the game.

Rakitic said: "You know my opinion."

"With all the respect in the world for Cristiano Ronaldo, he's up against the greatest in the history of the game.

"I congratulate him for winning the Ballon d'Or but, for me, Leo is unique. There's only one No. 1. Those behind him are unfortunate enough to have coincided with him."

Hull City Manager chides Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen following Spurs' 2-1 win

Following Spurs' 2-1 win over Hull City, City manager Steve Bruce lashed out at Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen for exaggerating to get Hull City's Ramirez Gaston red-carded. Bruce castigated such act as unhealthy for the Premier League. The Uruguayan midfielder Ramirez got the red card for kicking at Belgian Jan Vertonghen. Bruce argued his man only showed "petulance" when he was provoked by Jan. And such behaviour could not be regarded as "violent". The City went down when Tottenham's Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen found the net in the game's second half. Speaking with his news conference, Bruce said, "Ramirez has shown petulance.
